I can’t speak as an expert on the subject of communicating in a manner that is humble and has a humbling effect. In fact, I am in great need of wisdom and growth in this area. That’s why I’m so appreciative of the following video in which James MacDonald and CJ Mahaney discuss how we should approach another believer in effort to correct a pattern of sin we see in their life. I have appreciated the people in my life who have lovingly, graciously, and gently helped me to see sin in my life. Truly, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver” (Proverbs 25:11). It is never easy to be corrected, but it sure makes a difference when the person approaching me does so in humility, with my best interest at heart, and an enduring love that pursues relationship with me after seeing my sin and helping me to see it. What a blessing to have people like that in my life! It is the grace of God toward me!
