Due to a busy week, exhaustion, and just poor planning…no weekend reading for you this week. So, you can take a break from learning and just relax.
My husband is taking me to Dollywood today. I’m an East Tennessean now, so I suppose he figures I need to have the experience. I’m looking forward to it, but I have to confess feeling a little…well, redneckish? I know I shouldn’t, but I don’t know if this Yankee girl will ever be a fully converted southerner. Up north, they don’t have amusement parks named after country music stars, just chocolate. Nevertheless, he is excited to take me and since we are childless today (first time ever this long without Brant!) is planning hoping to take me on all the “fun” rides that I don’t like (drop towers, upside down roller coasters…). We’ll see about that. I want to do a challenge course with him.
After a birthday dinner for Blane’s mom last night, I handed the kids off to her. Brant has never been put down by anyone else, let alone at bed-time. But, he apparently did great. So, I breathed a sigh of relief and am able to enjoy our time together more readily. I know they’ll have fun and I hope his mom survives!
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
