How & Why To Establish Authority Early

In our family, one seems to be the magic number.  As in, one year-old.  Lots of milestones occur around the first birthday.  Both of our kids were walking,  Tara had a few  words, and I took the plunge and let them both experiment with a spoon.  However, I am referring to another milestone that is even more life-changing: the awareness of the will.the importance of establishing authority early Continue reading

Age Segregation in Churches

Have you considered what the Bible says about Sunday school, children’s ministry, and youth group?  Hmmm…it’s rather quiet about it.  But, it does have lots to say about families, parents teaching their children, and shows many examples of all age groups worshiping and learning together.  Continue reading

The Mission of Motherhood: Ch 10 – The Creative Mother

I love the theme of this chapter!  The premise is to engage in all “elements given into our hands,” and to help our children see and experience the glory of God as evident in our surroundings.  This is something I have had to learn.  To see and recognize little evidences of  God’s handiwork that we take for granted is truly an awesome way to cultivate thankfulness and an awareness of His character. Continue reading

My husband, love him, planned a day for us at Dollywood, “the friendliest place in the south” yesterday.  I’m an East Tennessean now and I needed to have the experience.  Now, I can say I’ve been there and done it.  And…that is enough for me! Continue reading
