Midnight Oil

Someone wrote a song in the 90s about “burning the midnight oil,” whose name escapes me at the moment.  Maybe it’s because it is a little past midnight and I’m exhausted.  Note to self: don’t eat chocolate at 4:00 in the afternoon! My mind is reeling though, and I wanted to put my thoughts into writing before they escape me, again. Continue reading

I love fall time for many reasons, and high on my list is the fact that I can pull out pumpkin recipes.  I just brought home two home grown pie pumpkins last weekend (they were free!) and am excited to use them in pumpkin pie over the next few weeks.  For today, I have two recipes that I’ve recently “invented,”  that we’ve enjoyed. I’m excited for you to hear from Sara, of Every Bitter Thing is Sweet today!  It is a privilege to have her contributing, and if you take some time to peruse her own blog, you’ll quickly learn why I think so.  Not only does she have a passionate love for the Lord, but He has gifted her with writing for His glory.  I pray you’ll be encouraged and inspired anew in your pursuit of godliness and growth as a mother!

After my mind traced and re-traced my last minute to-do’s and made sure I’d mentally accounted for all the bags that needed to be with us (and not on the moving truck), reality sunk in. We were leaving so much more than 11 years of history in one of America’s most beautiful college towns. Continue reading
