The following is a list (in progress!) of resources that my husband and I have benefited from. Please understand that because I am recommending them here, it does not mean that I agree with everything written on or believed by the authors from each site. Not all sources are Christians. Please be responsible and use discernment as you read!

Home Improvement: 8 Tools For Effective Parenting by Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller

Passionate Housewives Desperate for God by Jenny Chancey and Stacey McDonald
Womanly Dominion: More Than A Gentle and Quiet Spirit

Created to Be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl- I know this book is controversial, but the Lord has used it so much in my life and in many other women’s lives who I know. It’s one of my favorites, still the best in my opinion on our role as a wife. The one thing I would caution against is the lack of teaching about relying on the Holy Spirit to help us be what God has called us to be. We certainly can’t do it in our own strength!
Vision Forum – They also have a site in which they sell many wonderful tools and resources for the family which can be found here.
Family Ministries – Click on the “Articles” page for many helpful resources!
Raising Homemakers – If you have daughters, this site will provide you with encouraging resources in your journey of raising girls to be women!
No Greater Joy Ministries – The Pearls are very controversial people, but I cannot deny their love for God, the evident fruit in their children’s lives of godly parenting, and the wisdom we’ve gleaned from their very practical insights about child rearing. We disagree on some other theological fronts and on some of their child-rearing advice, but overall , think they are very wise. Please remember to always pray for wisdom when reading something written by another fellow man!
Health
The Weston A. Price Foundation – This site is definitely worth your read. Again, not a Christian site, but I have found the best research about health and nutrition here. No bold claims without research. This, in my opinion, is a very reputable, trustworthy source for health information.
Real Milk – This is a wonderful resource for learning about raw milk and where to find it.
Environmental Working Group’s Guide to Pesticides – This is very helpful for eating real food on a budget! It’s hard to know what to buy organic. This foundation puts out a list every year of foods most contaminated by pesticides and those which are not. It’s extremely helpful! I keep one in my purse. I’ve also written about it here.
Institute for Responsible Technology – This site talks mostly about Genetically Modified Organisms. Lots of helpful, educational material.
Mercola.com - This is not a Christian site. I have appreciated much of the information that Dr. Mercola shares on his site and through his email newsletters. Read with a grain of salt! Sometimes he’s a bit outrageous, but other times, he hits the nail right on the head.
The Hidden Art of Homemaking by Edith Schaeffer
Looks like things are really coming along with your new site!! I had to comment on your “Created To Be A Help Meet” recommendation, as it has really been the best resource I have found for a heavenly marriage as well, and I actually started an online bible study for the book! I’ve been taking a hiatus but plan to start again really soon. Maybe you’d like to come by and check it out, or point others in my direction! http://www.danceandbeglad.com/2010/08/created-to-be-his-help-meet-chapter-1.html
Blessings!
Thanks, Leah! I’ll definitely stop by! I LOVE the book!
